Pick a color
After finally getting back to my natural color, my hair is perilously close to needing to be permanently died. Hooray for gray hair! It's this color.

Frankly, since you have to touch up your roots every couple months anyway, I always went with a semi-permanent hair color (no ammonia, easier on my hair).
I had good luck with Clairol Natural Instincts. I've tried a bunch of colors over the years, but Dark Brown/Nutmeg and Medium Brown/Hazelnut didn't fade red. (Anything that said Auburn or Reddish Brown did.)
