Well, it looked like fun

Today we finally got around to carving our pumpkins. It all started out nicely. T came down with a rotten cold yesterday, but he was crazy-excited to carve pumpkins and "light them up!" And so, he and Daddy scooped out their brains and commenced the carving.

F woke up from his nap and joined the fun. At this point, everyone was still in pretty good spirits.

We had a bit of a meltdown between pumpkins. When he doesn't feel good, T gets extremely whiny. We almost threw in the towel, but had already scooped out the guts ... so we charged on. Also, we bought a battery-powered carver this year, which made things much faster and much more awesome. Of course, everyone wanted to help.

Finally, the pumpkins were carved and we lit them up. T was tickled pink. Or. Orange.

We had to get the requisite family-with-pumpkin pictures.

Exhibit B.

And our final, carved, lit pumpkins.

Looking at the pictures, it looks like we had a great time. In reality, we had a miserable time, where T cried over everything (seriously, he cried because I carried the pumpkin instead of him). Oh well, at least the pictures are cute.

As they said, great hair. I have pictures too that look like we had a good time, when in reality it didn't go so well. But when the kids get older they won't remember the crummy time, all they will remember is the cool pumpkins you carved. Neat pumpkin carver. Wish they had them around when you were little, so I didn't have to worry about carved fingers. Why didn't I think of that???
